BGM PRO Vespa Ignition Touring Kit (Non-Electric Start) PX125-150, Cosa125-200, LML
Alternator and voltage regulator
The BGM PRO set features a modern electrical system with voltage regulator that supplies a stable, gentle voltage of 12-13 volts even at elevated revolutions. With modified coil wiring, this system enables bright lighting at idle. Additionally, the voltage regulator can charge a battery and support USB charging sockets for mobile phones, navigation devices, etc.
Ignition
The BGM Pro ignition applies the widely-acknowledged CDI technology implemented by Piaggio since the 1980s. The ignition pulse is generated contactlessly based off a pick-up signal, resulting in superior starting capabilities and performance at low engine speeds. Furthermore, its contactless triggering is reliable at speeds over 10,000 RPM.
The Vespa PX models from 1984 on have an alternator with only one cable to the central power supply (blue cable). With this set a decrepit original ignition can be replaced and by the lighter flywheel the driving behaviour can be made more dynamic. Also ideal for rebuilding a complete engine. Can be perfectly combined with the BGM voltage regulator (BGM6690). Alternatively also usable with the original G |G regulator of the Lusso models. Likewise, this set is perfect for the conversion of the PX models from 2011. These use their own type of ignition which tends to drop out in the upper speed range (above 7000 rpm) (speed limiter).
